Shah Alam Stadium – the home ground of one of Malaysia’s Super League football clubs, Selangor – has recently installed an Audiocenter sound system into its facility. Having hosted many high profile games in recent years, such as Chealsea vs Malaysia in 2008, Arsenal vs Malaysia in 2011 and Barcelona FC vs Malaysia in 2013, it is undoubtedly a necessity to have a high standard of sound reinforcement with strong caliber and performance installed into the stadium. Xtreme Mhz Sdn Bhd was appointed the System Integrator for this project.
First constructed in January of 1990, the multi-purpose stadium – which also features a go-kart racing circuit – boasts a seating capacity of approximately 69,000 pax; lightweight, mobility, coverage and fidelity are the key requirements for this project. Audiocenter’s KLA line array perfectly met the requirements for providing absolutely stunning sound performance with extremely good coverage and high mobility.
AV Electronics Marketing Sdn Bhd supplied 26 units of Audiocenter KLA-28 and 10 units of KLA-815B to the stadium. The system was arranged in clusters with six main audience-facing clusters consisting of three units of KLA28 and one unit of KLA815B. The side audiencefacing clusters consisted of two units of KLA-28 and one unit of KLA-815B. The installation has resulted in remarkable sound performance and high intelligibility of speech for the stadium, which is considered a major landmark in Shah Alam due to its scale and architecture. With each cluster approximately covering 6,900 pax, the coverage of 100 degree H x 20 degree V permits wide, horizontal and long distance coverage.
