Recently, Pana Micro Electronics Sdn Bhd in Sibu, Sarawak, sold and installed a nice BMB karaoke system in a bungalow. It was an upgrade from an existing BMB system, and it was a rather elaborate system for domestic or home use, even for a bungalow.
Home karaoke systems usually consists of a 2 to 4 speaker system, an amplifier, a LED TV and 2-3 microphones. In this case, the existing system consisted of 4 units BMB CSD2000 powered by a conventional BMB karaoke amp, and a non-branded subwoofer, and 2 wired mics and a wireless microphone system. The owner liked the BMB sound very much because of its high clarity, but he wanted more than what the CSD2000 could deliver. He wanted more power, louder, more oomph! Besides singing karaoke, he wanted to PARTY!
So he tested various conventional karaoke speakers, including adding on more CSD2000, but that didn’t have the oomph he wanted. In the end due to his high power requirements, Pana Micro proposed the BMB Professional series system, consisting of 4 units of the CSP612 speakers.
So in the end, this was the system that the house owner agreed upon, and it was lots of power!
BMB CSP612 x 4 units – 2 way speakers, each with 400W Continuous, 1600W Peak, 128dB Peak
BMB DAD950 x 1 unit – Amplifier with 1200W x 2 Channels @ 4 Ohm
BMB KSP100 x 1 unit – Digital Karaoke Sound Processor
BMB WB5000S x 1 unit – Karaoke Wireless Microphone System
That’s 1600W of continuous speaker power, with 2400W of amplification, ample headroom to maintain system integrity and sound quality. With this professional grade sound reinforcement speakers, there was no need for any subwoofer for this space, as the CSP612 could produce enough bass for EDM music. And yet the speaker produces such high quality audio for karaoke music and sweet vocals so it becomes a dual-purpose sound system – karaoke singing + playback dance/EDM/rock music.
To control the audio output, a conventional karaoke amplifier just wouldn’t cut it anymore, thus the KSP100 digital karaoke sound processor was needed to tune the signal and output to suit the room. Without this processor, the sound would have been rough and noisy. The processing enables a sweet, smooth and clean sound at high level outputs. Output from the KSP100 was fed directly into the DAD950 amplfier. The DAD950 powers 2 units of CSP612 (parallel) per channel and there was enough headroom to ensure the system does not need to run at maximum levels.
And, finally, to make the karaoke experience better, a unit of BMB WB5000S wireless microphone system was added on to replace the existing wired mics. This became the primary wireless microphone system and was added on because it produced a much better vocal performance and no cumbersome cables laying around
Now we have a very happy home owner in Sibu, who can host karaoke parties and also dance parties! Thank you to the customer, and thank you to Pana Micro for making this happen.
